Video specs for every app (2026)

These are the limits that apply when a video is posted through each app’s official API, which is how schedulers and reposting tools publish. Uploading by hand in the app can allow slightly different lengths. Checked November 2026.

One video for every app

Export once at 1080×1920 (9:16), MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, 30 fps, and keep it under 90 seconds. That single file is accepted by every app above, including Facebook Reels, the strictest on length. Keep text away from the bottom fifth and the right edge, where each app puts its buttons.

If you post the same video on several apps, Repostit does it for you: post on TikTok or Instagram as usual and it reposts to the others, resized and without the watermark. See how many videos you can post per day and how to schedule Reels on Instagram.

FAQ

What is the best video size for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

1080×1920 pixels, vertical 9:16. The same file works on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels, as long as its length fits each app.

How long can a Facebook Reel be?

Between 3 and 90 seconds when it is published as a Reel through Meta’s tools and API. Longer videos are posted as regular videos.

How long can a YouTube Short be?

Up to 3 minutes, in a square or vertical format. A Short longer than 1 minute with an active copyright claim is blocked worldwide.

Is my video uploaded when I check it?

No. The checker reads the video’s length, size and resolution in your browser. Nothing leaves your device.

Why does the checker say a video works on one app but not another?

Each app has its own limits. A 2-minute vertical video fits TikTok, Reels and Shorts, but is too long for Facebook Reels (90 seconds) and for X on a free account (2 min 20 s is fine, longer isn’t).
